“We're putting the band back together,” said Jake and Elwood Blues in the cult movie the Blues Brothers. And those famous words have now been echoed by the Broker Network's boss Grant Ellis.

Ellis has decided to put together a band and play a gig in aid of the BBC's Children in Need. Ellis will be on lead guitar with the network's business development manager Glen Laidler on vocals and former IT man Bill Hodgetts on rhythm guitar.

The band, appropriately known as Broken Fretwork, is spreading a rumour that Smart & Cook's managing director Paul Meehan may be putting in a guest appearance.

And the venue for the gig? King James' School in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. Tickets from the Broker Network on 01423 877800. Doors open at 7.30pm.
