Mike Ramsey to replace Martin Oliver

Barbon Insurance Group has appointed Mike Ramsey as its new chief executive to replace Martin Oliver.

Ramsey, who was previously Cigna European division chief executive, life, accident and health, will take up his new role in June.

Oliver who has been in the job since 2008, is leaving to become UK chief executive at The A&A Group.

Barbon chairman Tim Redburn said: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Mike’s calibre to Barbon. His exceptional background in the insurance and financial services sectors where he has led and grown a number of high profile businesses will be a major asset to the group. We wish him every success in his new role.”

Ramsay has held chief executive and senior executive roles with Cigna, American Express, Aegon and AXA.

Ramsay said: “I am excited at the challenge ahead and look forward to leading Barbon in the next phase of its development.”

The appointment still needs FSA approval.
