Four MDs appointed to broker’s property and commercial division

Barbon Insurance Group has overhauled its top management, creating four managing directors for the four businesses within its property and commercial division.

Three existing heads of business have been promoted to the new positions, while Tim Wilson has joined the business from AXA, where he was strategic relationship manager, to take up the fourth.

Penny Jepson from Barbon’s constituent business Deacon (pictured), Joe Murphy from FARR and Wayne Tonge from Keelan Westall have been promoted.

Wilson, who worked for Close Premium Finance before AXA, said: “I have known several of Barbon’s senior management team for many years and they are people I respect and know I can work with. Plus Cadogan Keelan Westall has a first class, niche offering to the property market and a hugely knowledgeable and loyal team of people.”

As well as Keelan Westall (wholesale residential & commercial property insurance), Deacon (blocks of flats insurance), Cadogan Keelan Westall (commercial property insurance) and FARR (social housing insurance), Barbon’s brands are Rentshield, HomeLet, Letsure, Zennor and BIBALet.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
