Bank to extend sales of insurance products

Barclays has signed deals with Aviva and Legal & General to sell general insurance and life insurance products to its UK retail customers.

Aviva will provide personal accident and life insurance through the bank. Barclays will sell these online, on the telephone and through their branches. Aviva will not advise Barclays on the sales.

Legal & General will supply family and mortgage life insurance and critical illness protection cover through Barclays, and the insurer will advise the bank on the sales.

Barclays managing director, insurance and investments, Paul McNamara said: “We look forward to building on our already successful relationships with Aviva and Legal & General to provide our customers with a comprehensive range of competitive and easily accessible insurance, which they can tailor to their needs.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
