The world has gone mad. For the first time ever, a woman may actively seek searing criticism of her appearance - from builders.

In Bristol, a new kind of insurance policy means that wolf whistles could lose a woman £100,000.

Nicola Jones took out a £200 a year insurance policy as a birthday present for husband Simon after he joked that he would go off her if she lost her looks.

In order to make a claim, she will have to be declared unattractive by a panel of ten builders.

And what will she spend the money on?

Jones promises that she will use the money to hire a personal trainer or go to a health farm to lose weight rather than resort to plastic surgery.

Or perhaps she could invest it in a less superficial husband?

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
