Division to make further appointment in June

Lloyd’s insurer Beazley has hired Chris Parker to lead its terrorism and political violence team. He was previously managing director of Bowring Marsh Terrorism.

Beazley has also announced that former Chaucer underwriter Andrew Page will join its terrorism team on 1 June. Page specialises in war and terrorism risks.

Beazley says Parker has worked with many major European financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies and overseas multinational firms in the development of political risk, terrorism and political violence solutions for foreign investments, power projects, construction projects and overseas import/export contracts.

“This is a critical line of business at a time when many global organisations are coming under increasing threat as a result of rising instability and political violence – particularly in North Africa and the Middle East,” said Adrian Lewers, Beazley’s head of political risk and contingency, in a statement.

He added: “Beazley has a strong track record in developing creative solutions for terrorist and politically motivated attacks on insured assets. Chris has exceptional experience in this arena and will help us identify new ways to help clients address these exposures.”
