Beazley is set to introduce employment practices liability (EPL) cover in the UK during the next year.

EPL insurance protects employers against being sued for acts such as wrongful dismissal and sexual harassment.

Beazley already writes EPL liability in the US, but is yet to become involved in the UK market.

"EPL is a product we will bring to the UK market within the next 12 months," said Beazley chief executive Andrew Beazley.

It is not yet known what capacity Beazley will be able to offer for UK EPL.

Beazley Group recently reported a £800,000 profit before tax for the six-month period to 31 December 2002.

The results were Beazley's first set of accounts since becoming a public company.

Beazley's two syndicates, 623 and 2623 reported gross written premiums of £438m for the full year to 31 December 2002, as against £355m in 2001. The group's 2003 capacity increased to £660m from £403m in 2002.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
