Chief executive of group’s Lloyd’s broker to leave in mid-June

Besso Limited chief executive Colin Marshall has resigned and will leave the company in the middle of June.

A successor has yet to be named.

Besso Limited is the Lloyd’s broking unit of Besso Insurance Group, which is headed by chairman and chief executive Colin Bird.

Besso Limited produces 98% of the group’s revenue.

Marshall is one of the founding members of the modern-day Besso, which was formed through a management buy-out in 1985. It was previously a family-owned business.  

Marshall managed Besso’s professional indemnity business from 1986 until 2000, when he became chief executive of Besso Limited.
