The industry must "raise its game" if it is to flourish, Biba chairman Max Taylor told delegates at the opening of the conference.
Taylor said that the insurers and brokers must recruit the best people and produce the best products if they are to flourish.
He also commented on FSA chief executive John Tiner's challenge to tackle contract certainty. "We must grasp the nettle and show we can do what must be done."
