I and my guests had an enjoyable evening at the Birmingham Biba dinner, with one significant exception. The guest speaker for the evening was Fred Dibnah and the content of his speech was entirely what one would have expected, although it was perhaps too technical and a little long-winded.

This however is no excuse for the behaviour of a small alcohol fuelled, simple minded minority.

Despite Mr Dibnah, at one stage, suggesting that if people were not interested they might like to adjourn to the bar; this group finally managed to force him to curtail his speech. He left, obviously annoyed.

Another PR coup for the insurance industry.
