Latest appointment in Amanda Blanc's top team revealed

AXA UK commercial lines chief executive Amanda Blanc has appointed the CII's Alasdair Stewart as commercial director.

Stewart will join the AXA Commercial leadership team on 1st July 2011.

Stewart will lead the development of AXA Commercial's broker proposition.

Most recently he led corporate development at the CII where he built up a network of relationships with regional and national brokers.

He will report directly to Blanc, who said: "I am delighted that Alasdair will be joining the AXA commercial lines team.

"Developing and executing the right proposition for our brokers is fundamental to our future success. Alasdair brings with him a special blend of skills and experience that will help us achieve our ambition.”

Stewart added: “AXA has a tremendous opportunity to grow its position in the market. I will be ensuring the needs of customers are clearly understood and that our proposition delivers what the market and our channels require.

"Amanda has a very clear ambition for the commercial business and I am looking forward to supporting that ambition and working with her again.”

Blanc began the overhaul of AXA's top team last month. It already includes David Williams, underwriting and claims director; and Stuart Reid, chief executive of Bluefin.

This latest appointment leaves five roles still vacant.
