Jonathan Nunes-Carvalho joins Global Markets division.

Brit has appointed Jonathan Nunes-Carvalho as Divisional Underwriting Director, Property and Space, in its Global Markets division.

Carvalho will report to newly-appointed Brit Global Markets chief, Matthew Wilson. He has over 20 years experience in the London Market and has been at Brit Insurance since 2001, joining as an International Property Underwriter.

In 2003, Carvalho was promoted to Class Underwriter for US and Canadian Commercial and Residential Facilities for Brit Syndicate 2987.

Prior to joining Brit, he spent six years at H.G. Jago & Others, where he was Class Underwriter for Direct and Facultative Property, writing a worldwide book in a broad range of classes, including industrial, commercial, residential and motor.

Wilson said: “Our Global Markets business is fortunate to have such an experienced leadership group with exceptional underwriting talent. Together with Jenny Martin (Legal and Professional Risks) and Janet Henderson (North American Liability), Jonathan will join an experienced team that will help us to meet our future goals.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
