Jonathan Turner becomes active underwriter of syndicate 2987.

Brit Insurance has named Jonathan Turner has active underwriter of syndicate 2987 at Lloyd’s of London, managed by Brit Syndicates Limited.

Turner joined Brit Insurance in 2005 to head up its reinsurance operations. He was appointed to its executive management committee in 2006 and became chief executive officer of Brit Reinsurance in 2007.

In his new role, he assumes full responsibility for the business activities of Syndicate 2987, and becomes the primary point of contact between the UK-based international general insurance and reinsurance group and Lloyd’s of London.

Dane Douetil, chief executive officer of Brit Insurance, said: "Jonathan’s appointment as active underwriter enables him to make a more significant contribution to the group, which includes becoming a member of the portfolio management committee. He has a wide ranging underwriting and management background and his experience and strategic thought have been instrumental in driving the success of Brit Reinsurance. I am pleased that he has accepted this expanded role.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
