Insurer appoints Chris Williams as underwriter

Brit Insurance has appointed Chris Williams to its expanding Bloodstock Team.

Williams will report to Robin Blunt, Brit’s Bloodstock Underwriter and takes up his position immediately.

He has over 25 years of experience in the bloodstock insurance industry and joins Brit Insurance after five years with SBJ Nelson Steavenson, where he was a divisional director of its bloodstock division.

In this role, he was responsible for increasing brokerage incomes and developing overseas business.

Prior to SBJ, he spent 14 years at Robert Fraser Insurance Brokers, becoming a director in 1999. He has also worked for Howson Devitt and Ropner and began his career as a trainee at Lloyd’s broker Cork, Bays and Fisher.

David Knight, Head of Brit Insurance’s Accident and Health Division, said: “Chris has a first class reputation within the bloodstock class and knows the sector inside out.

"He has experience of all major markets and agents, making him the ideal addition to our growing bloodstock team.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
