Brit has said that its results for the six-month period to 30 June 2005 will be materially ahead of market expectations.

In its trading statement it anticipated pre-tax profit for the first half of 2005 in the region of £110m.

Brit will announce its interim results for the period ended 30 June 2005 on Tuesday 6 September.
