Brit has launched a new charity protection indemnity policy.

The charity product will be part of Brit's directors' and officers' (D&O) portfolio and provide entity, legal expenses and individual cover. There will be no exclusions in regard to employment practice liability or professional indemnity.

The launch of this new policy coincides with the approval of the new Charities Act, which received Royal Assent earlier this month. The Act makes it easier for charities to obtain trustee indemnity insurance by allowing trustees to purchase indemnity insurance without initially having to gain permission from the Charity Commission; providing there is no provision in the charity's governing document that specifically prohibits this.

Craig Watson, Brit D&O underwriter at, commented: “This is an important addition to our UK professional risks product suite. This new policy complements our existing D&O offering and demonstrates our commitment to meeting clients' needs in an ever-evolving legal environment.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
