Rugby League team the London Broncos have started selling travel insurance - to save fans money while bringing more revenue to the club.
The team claims the product will save nearly 60% compared to buying insurance via a travel agent.
Broncos Travel Insurance can cover trips from 2 - 365 days, including round-the-world trips and weekends away, with prices starting at £49 for a year. All Broncos Gold Members will receive a 10% discount on top of this.
Chief executive Nic Cartwright said: "We're delighted to be able to offer our fans, and anyone who likes a good deal for that matter, this new service.
"Some might think that it is a little odd for a professional rugby league club to be selling travel insurance but we see it as a fantastic opportunity. If we can promote and deliver a first class product to our fans that is highly competitive in price without taking resources away from our core business, then why not."
The product, which is administered by Miller Fisher, is available via the Broncos' website (www.londonbroncos.co.uk) under `travel services'.
