Arista promotes Andrew Ball to head schemes business

Canopius UK retail chief executive Tim Rolfe has been named a non-executive director of managing general agency Arista.

Rolfe has taken up the Arista board position vacated by Canopius’s former UK household division head Chris McGinn. McGinn left Canopius to join broker Gallagher Heath at the beginning of the year.

Canopius is a capacity provider to and a shareholder of Arista. Each shareholder has two positions on Arista’s board. Executive chairman Michael Watson holds the other position allocated to Canopius.

“I welcome Tim on board and look forward to working with him,” Arista chief executive Charles Earle told Insurance Times. He also thanked McGinn for his help and support over the past five years.

Separately, Arista has promoted Andrew Ball to head up its schemes division and hired Mark Ellinor as schemes product manager. Ellinor joins Arista from Legal & General.

“We are delighted to welcome Mark Ellinor and to announce that Andrew’s talents will be put to even greater use in his expanded role,” Earle said. “Both directly support and facilitate our ambition to develop and build Arista’s schemes business. Andrew’s extensive experience will ensure Arista’s excellence in supporting the needs of Arista’s broker partners as well as building new broker relationships across the UK.”
