Capita has struck a deal with the Retired Insurance Advisory Service (RIAS) to provide identity theft cover to its policyholders.

RIAS will offer the Capita-run service to 800,000 policyholders from this month.

Max Pell, managing director at Capita Legal Services, said: “People who become the victims of identify theft face distress, inconvenience and the problem of not knowing where to turn.

“We have invested a large resource in understanding what the customer wants, have engaged with all relevant stakeholders, credit bureaus and CIFAS, and believe that we have created a solution that is directly relevant to victims of ID theft."
