CBC Affinity has launched an underwriting agency giving commercial brokers access to a range of non-standard motor policies.

Crescent Underwriting will place fleet, commercial vehicle, classic car and courier business with a panel of insurers including Corinthian and Eclipse.

The facility is available only to brokers through Towergate Underwriting Agency Management, which will market and administer the policies on Crescent's behalf.

Kevin Bowers, managing director of Crescent, said: "We are offering quality motor facilities to those brokers without easy access to certain markets."

Bowers, who was previously managing director of Trident Insurance, said he expects Crescent to write at least £3m in 2005.

He added: "The team here has a lot of experience and some great relationships with insurers. We can place anything from accident and conviction to high net worth and complex fleet business, and capacity is not an issue."

Crescent is a subsidiary of broker CBC UK.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
