Latest deal moves consolidator close to £230 GWP

CCV has acquired Walsall-based broker Cox Lee & Co.

The Midlands broker has a GWP of over £7m and has built a strong reputation servicing local commercial businesses.

Tim Johnson, CCV chief executive, said: “Cox Lee is a well established regional business and with our involvement we are confident that the company will continue its progress.

"This moves CCV close to £230m and strengthens our presence in the Midlands."

Bernard Lee, managing director of Cox Lee, said: “The CCV philosophy fits well with the needs of both our customers and staff.

"We considered a number of options for our business and felt that CCV was ideal for both customers and staff, and equally importantly the ongoing development of the company."

CCV’s executive chairman, Peter Cullum, added: “In Cox Lee we have added a well established business with an excellent track record to the family.

"Our strategy of acquiring and investing in good quality regional brokers continues at a pace and we have a number of further deals in our sights for the second quarter of 2008.”
