Willis’s David Mead to take over operations from CEO Stuchbery

Chaucer has named David Mead as its newly created chief operating officer of Chaucer Syndicates (CSL), Chaucer's Lloyd's managing agency and main operational subsidiary, from 1 November 2010.

Mead will assume direct responsibility for Chaucer's key operations functions from the Chaucer chief executive, Bob Stuchbery. He will be responsible for leading further development and implementation of Chaucer's operations and service strategy.

Experience

He joins from Willis, where he was managing director of group operations. David has also held previous positions as COO of Aon, and with First Direct Bank.

Stuchbery said: "David joins us with an exceptional track record of delivering operations excellence within the insurance industry and across other service sectors.

“A first class operations platform is critical to our underwriting success and I look forward to working closely with him on the development of the target operating model that will achieve this."
