Growth-hungry Churchill Insurance has bought personal lines broker Devitt Insurance in London from SBJ Group for an undisclosed sum.
Devitt, which was established in the 1930s, will be maintained as a broker and continue to operate as a stand alone business. Devitt has a portfolio of more than 170,000 policies providing motorcycle, caravan, car, home, travel and leisure insurance to private individuals.
"The entire workforce of approximately 120 will be retained" said Churchill managing director and chief executive, Martin Long.
Martin Pretlove, Chief Executive of Devitt, said: "This is a positive move both for the future of the company and for the staff. We can look forward to strong future growth."
