Healthcare insurer CIGNA has launched two dental plans: the Preventive Plan or the Maintenance Plan, based on principle preventive care.
Both plans provide patients with budget care for their teeth and reflect the trend for dental standards in the UK to move towards preventive rather than restorative dental care.
The Preventive Plan offers patients two examinations and consultations a year, X-rays, oral hygiene instruction, two simple scale and polishes a year and accident and worldwide emergency cover.
The Maintenance Plan offers the same as the Preventive Plan but includes amalgam and anterior composite fillings and simple extractions.
CIGNA dentists who have patients on the cover are offered other services including financial planning, marketing tools, staff training, access to ongoing advice and support, and conversion planning workshops for dentists wishing to become independent.
