Field-based claims team to be cut across the UK
Co-operative Insurance Services is axing 35 field-based motor engineers after putting digital scanning systems in it approved repairers meant decisions to repair or write-off vehicles could be made down the line.
A CIS spokesman told Insurance Times that CIS had already identified alternative roles for at least 10 of the 35 staff and hoped to find roles for more.
The company said: "We've started collective and individual consultation and will be working closely with Unite. We intend to do everything possible to mitigate compulsory redundancies. We've already identified 10 field-based roles to offer as suitable alternative employment and will continue to look at all further options."
