Underwriting agency strengthens senior management

Cobra Underwriting Agencies (CUA), the exclusive underwriting agency for Cobra Network members, has announced four senior appointments.

The company has made two appointments to its board of directors, as well as adding new sales and underwriting managers.

Frank Such joins the board as underwriting director. Frank was appointed Underwriting Manager for CUA on its formation in 2006 and has been a "major factor", the company said, in its success. Frank has over 30 years underwriting experience and has worked for Lombard and St Paul Travellers at senior management level.

In his stead, Sandra Chapman has been promoted to Underwriting Manager. Sandra joined CUA in May 2006 from AXA Insurance having previously worked in underwriting, account development, project and managerial roles.

David Drew has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director and also joins the board. David held several senior underwriting management and board positions with Lombard General Insurance before, in 1999, successfully launching the commercial division of Folgate Insurance. He retired in 2006.

Graham Ringer joins as sales manager from NIG, where he served for almost two decades.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
