Credit insurer Coface has announced plans to expand its distribution to include independent brokers.

Historically, Coface sold

its core product - credit insurance - through brokers with specialist credit insurance divisions. These brokers include Marsh, Willis, Aon and HSBC Insurance Brokers.

Coface market development manager Gordon Cessford said the plan to sell through general insurance brokers was part of a strategy to market its credit products to more small and medium sized businesses.

"We're trying to broaden that base out," he said. "We don't want to load our book at either end."

Coface's other products include debt collections and credit information services.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
