Allianz Cornhill has unveiled the first product to bear the insurer's new brand name since its launch last year.

Commercial Select is a flexible package of cover that enables brokers to build a bespoke range of products for commercial businesses.

Commercial portfolio manager for Allianz Cornhill, Duncan Carter, explains: "Commercial Select is a sectionalised contract that gives the client the flexibility to choose the cover he needs from a list of non-specific trade risks."

Among the cover on offer is: indemnity for material damage, goods and money in transit, business interruption, public and employer's liability, product liability and accident and sickness cover. As part of the product's next stage of development, Allianz Cornhill is looking to add further cover, such as engineering, legal expenses and marine.

Carter said the product was developed after extensive consultation with some of Allianz Cornhill's community of 4,000 broker partners.

He said: "We have changed our approach to underwriting following soundings from brokers and up-dated our commercial cover so it conforms more closely to their needs."

One example of this fresh approach is the way the policy has been designed to feature up-to-date wording and modern packaging.

"Commercial Select will play a key role in growing our mid-commercial account and provide us with a tremendous platform for future development," added Carter.

Commercial Select is also the latest product launched from Allianz Cornhill's successful Select range, which includes, Motor Trade Select and Construction Select. Commission rates for Commercial Select, Carter said, are likely to be variable.
