It seems the non-life industry will be spared a Sandler review.
Speaking to Backchat at the annual CII conference in Birmingham, Sandler, who earlier this year mauled the life industry in The Sandler Review, said that he did not have view on the sale of non-life products, had no view on the effect that a PI capacity crisis could have on the IFA market and had no view on the current reform of Lloyd's. Sandler is a recent former chairman of Lloyd's and at least remembered that most of the capital in Lloyd's comes from corporates rather than names.
In a last ditch attempt to elicit to words of wisdom from the sage, Backchat asked whether Sandler would be interested in conducting a review of the non-life industry. "There's no hope of that", he said emphatically. Well we'll all just have to make do with the Tiner report when it is published in a fortnight.
