Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford has appointed Gavin Southwell as head of operations.

Previously CGSC’s head of risk management, in his new role Southwell will focus on providing best practice processes and controls, and a platform for the company to meet its strategic objectives.

In addition, he will co-ordinate and develop CGSC’s regional and global operations, linking closely with the group’s current major IT investments.

Southwell, a chartered accountant, started his career at Credit Agricole. Prior to joining CGSC in 2009, he worked in various insurance roles, most recently for Beazley and Willis.

Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford Group chief executive Toby Esser said: “Since Gavin joined the team at CGSC he has done an excellent job of implementing an enhanced risk management framework and identifying areas where our operations could be optimised to meet our strategic vision. In his new role, Gavin will make a natural progression to deliver world class operational support for our global businesses.”
