David Skey joins from Guy Carpenter

Cooper Gay has announced the appointment of David Skey as it looks to grow its share of reinsurance business in Continental Europe.

Skey will be based in London and will join the reinsurance team reporting to Seymour Matthews, chairman of Reinsurance.

As an expert in casualty and treaty reinsurance, Skey brings more than 30 years' experience in the Northern European non-marine treaty sector, with the last 10 years focusing on Germany and Switzerland.

He previously worked at Guy Carpenter where he was senior vice president and began his career in 1978 with C E Heath.

Seymour Matthews said: “Continental Europe is a key target for our reinsurance team and David’s extensive knowledge of this area makes him a valuable asset as we seek to grow our market share of European business, particularly with his specialist expertise in the casualty and structured risk fields.”
