Covéa Insurance has appointed Tim Grant to the newly created position of micro SME leader.

Grant joins Covéa from Professional Insurance Agents, where he was previously interim chief operating officer. He has also worked as head of e-commerce at Dual Corporate Risks and head of UK distribution at Brit Insurance.

In his new role, Grant will lead the insurer’s micro SME strategy and develop on-line trading platform Broker Online as well as its comparative quote offering BOS+ and Covéa’s SME products.

Grant will report to director of commercial underwriting and business operations Paul Hodgson (pictured).

Hodgson said: “Tim has a significant market presence supported by strong relationships in the industry. He already has a track record of profitable growth in the micro SME arena, as well as the unique skill set of bringing together market insight and relationships with experience as an insurer, MGA and broker.

“Tim will play a vital role in our commercial lines leadership team and his unique insight into the micro SME market will be a huge asset as we look to build on an already strong base.”

Grant said: “This role is the perfect opportunity for me, given Covéa Insurance’s ambitious growth plans and significant investments in both people and capabilities. I’m joining a growing team, which already has real breadth in terms of market experience and technical expertise, and as micro SME is a dynamic market I know really well, my appointment adds a further dimension to the team’s expertise.”
