Cowburn Insurance Brokers has bought Forsyth Lang in the first of a number of acquisitions planned this year.
Cowburn managing director Mike Cowburn said he planned to build a number of small brokers into one large business.
He said he wanted to double his £4m premium income within three years.
Forsyth Lang was based in Garforth, Leeds. Its commercial and personal accounts and four staff will move to Cowburn's headquarters in Woodlesford.
