Alex Finch joins Crawford from Cunningham Lindsey.

Crawford & Company has appointed Alex Finch as managing director for its National Building Services unit, effective immediately.

Finch joins Crawford from Cunningham Lindsey, where he held a number of senior management positions over many years. His most recent role was as U.K. Subsidence director, responsible for all operational areas, including client relationships.

Prior to that, he was a regional director at the company. He is a member of both the Chartered Institute of Building and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and began his surveying career with the Whitbread Group in 1993.

Graeme Fitzpatrick, head of Crawford General Insurance said, “Alex is a highly experienced and well-qualified senior manager who will help ensure that Crawford has the strongest subsidence and surveying capability in the market.”

Benedict Burke, chief executive officer, UK & Ireland said, “The insurance industry spends approximately £300m each year on subsidence and complex buildings claims. Given this background, we developed two distinct services - the National Subsidence Unit and Crawford Surveying Services.” Burke continued, “Alex will become a core member of our senior management team to further develop what is already a successful part of our business.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
