Legal protection insurer DAS is urging insurance advisers to highlight new rulings on discrimination, as most businesses remain unaware of the impact this could have on them.

Ray Kneeshaw, DAS had of sles and mrketing said: "The act of discrimination does not, in itself, have to have a sexual content. Indirect unfairness towards people because of their gender can now amount to sexual discrimination".

"Discrimination claims to Tribunals potentially carry unlimited compensation awards”, adds Mr Kneeshaw. “This is why Commercial Legal Protection, or the more comprehensive Employment Practices Protection, should be offered as a safeguard to every business”.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
