Paul Asplin appointed as new VP of European legal expenses association.
The chief executive of DAS Legal Expenses Insurance, Paul Asplin, has been appointed as the new vice president of RIAD, the International Association of Legal Expenses Insurers.
It is the first time that this position has been held by a UK member of the association, and reflects the growing influence of the UK legal expenses market within Europe.
Asplin said: “I’ve held one of the six seats on the RIAD Board for several years and have strived to endorse and enhance the association’s purpose – to promote the reputation and development of legal expenses insurance and safeguard the general interests of its members – along with my RIAD colleagues.
“I am honoured to have been appointed to the position of Vice President. The next RIAD Congress in 2009 will be held in South Africa, reflecting the impact of legal expenses insurance in that country and its increasing importance as a means of access to justice throughout the world.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
