Four senior members promoted in actuarial and insurance practice.

Deloitte has announced the promotion of four senior members of its actuarial and insurance practice.

Paul Coulthard has been appointed as a partner. He joined Deloitte in 2002 and specialises in capital management with a particular focus on with-profits. A qualified actuary, Coulthard began his career as a trainee with Commercial Union and then joined Bacon & Woodrow.

Amish Desai has been promoted to associate partner. Desai joined Deloitte in 2002 following the merger with Bacon & Woodrow. Based in London, he is an actuary specialising in life insurance M&A assignments and regulatory roles.

Philip Oliver has been promoted to director. Oliver is a qualified actuary and also a CFA charterholder. He started his career in South Africa before joining Deloitte in 2004. Phillip focuses on life insurance M&A and restructuring in the UK market.

Julia Holden has been promoted to director. Holden is a programme manager and has worked in the life insurance industry for more than 25 years. She joined Deloitte with the Bacon & Woodrow transaction.

Roger Simler, lead partner, Life Actuarial and Insurance, Deloitte congratulated the newly promoted staff and partners and said: “In spite of current market uncertainty, the insurance practice at Deloitte has seen significant growth this year. These promotions highlight our focus on investing in client service regardless of ongoing turbulence.”
