Coventry intermediary Dial Direct is to sell pet insurance after linking up with Pinnacle Pet Healthcare.

The policy will offer protection for cats and dogs, including conditions diagnosed as hereditary, behavioural problems, euthanasia and a contribution towards clinical diets.

In addition, pet owners will receive free cover for up to 30 days for animals travelling outside the UK under the government's pet travel scheme.

It is described as a straightforward monthly healthcare plan, offering lifetime protection against the cost of unexpected veterinary bills.

PPH marketing director Simon Wheeler said: “We feel that this product will attract many customers who currently have other personal lines insurance products, but who have previously failed to find a value for money pet policy to match their needs.”

The pet insurance policy will be advertised in Yellow Pages.
