Insurer expands board of directors as it prepares to float

Direct Line Group has appointed Clare Thompson as a non-executive director as the insurer prepares for its stock market debut this year.

Clare is currently a non-executive on the partnership board of broker Miller Insurance Services.

She is a qualified chartered accountant and became a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in 1988. While Clare was at PwC, she held several senior and high-profile roles, particularly within the insurance sector. 

Direct Line Group chairman Mike Biggs (pictured) said: “I am delighted to welcome Clare to the board of directors of the company. Clare brings with her extensive experience and knowledge gained from roles across the professional services industry, which will undoubtedly be of great benefit to the board.”

 

 

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
