Policy will offer PI and product liability
DUAL Corporate Risks has launched a combined professional indemnity and products liability product for computer consultants and contractors.
DUAL Corporate Risks underwriting director for financial lines Jennifer Martin said it was the first time that DUAL had offered a combined liability policy.
She said: “At DUAL, we constantly assess the risks involved in specific professions and ensure we create tailored products to support them. In this instance we have identified computer consultants and contractors as policyholders who require a combined policy, due to the potential difficulty in this sector in determining whether a claim falls under professional indemnity or products liability.
“If they were to just purchase professional indemnity, this may not be sufficient protection and if they purchase the insurances separately from different insurers, it could lead to conflicts as to where the claim lies and expose a potential gap in cover.”
This new product is designed to complement the company’s existing PI cover for other professions and the specialist product for the miscellaneous professions group.
