A survey by the British Weather Services (BWS) shows more than half of the weather claims handled in any one year are "dubious".
BWS said: "Given that the final repudiation rate is normally between 10% and 15%, BWS claims at least a third of all weather claims are being needlessly met - costing the insurance industry hundreds of millions of pounds each year."
