Dumb waiter traps dumb thief, or so the tale goes, in a recent claim filed with Alliance Insurance Management
The claim relates to a break-in at a bar. It seems that the thieves could not access the basement, where all the booze was kept, leading them to think of a more imaginative solution. One of the unfortunate fellows was sent down in the dumb waiter used to move the bottles. His weight tripped the lift, leaving him trapped in the basement. Abandoned by his mates, he was discovered by police next morning.
