An insurance cock-up grounded 40 easyJet planes at the weekend. It seems that the planes loaded up with passengers before someone realised that insurance documents were not on board.

Unlike car insurance, aeroplane insurance requires the documents to be on board the plane, and due to an administrative error on renewal, the correct documents were not in place. While passengers realise that easyJet is no frills, I'm not sure that they expect the maxim to apply to insurance too.
