Tim Ablett joins specialist insurer

Electrical Contractors’ Insurance Holding (ECIH) and its subsidiaries Electrical Contractors’ Insurance Company (ECIC) and Electrical Contractors’ Insurance Services (ECIS) has appointed Tim Ablett as chairman.

Previously he was Garwyn non-executive director and before that,the director of personal lines at RSA, managing director of Groupama UK and chief executive of FirstAssist.

ECIH managing director Roger Brown said: “We are delighted with Tim’s appointment as he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be invaluable to the business in the years ahead.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
