Nigel Hayden to head Banbury base

Lloyd’s broker Ellis Clowes & Company has opened a new office in Banbury.

The broker’s second base will be headed by Nigel Hayden.

Hayden joined the company in July this year to extend the product lines for all aspects of the motor sport industry on both four and two wheels as well as growing the client base in the company’s other area of expertise including rugby union.

“It is an exciting move for Ellis Clowes,” said Hayden. “After spending the summer working with Karen (Ellis) and her team in the London offices, this move to Banbury gives us the perfect location to meet new and current clients in the middle of England while concentrating too on building up the commercial arm of the business. With local contacts being established with lawyers, accountants, banks and other professionals in the area, the Banbury office will handle all classes of corporate and commercial insurance.

“We will manage our on track motorsport products from Banbury too, as well as promoting other products and solutions for medium and high net worth clients, alongside member benefit schemes.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
