Erinaceous Insurance Services has strengthened its position as one of the UK's largest property brokers by acquiring Lumley Holdings.

The deal, worth £12m, will see the property insurance services division of Erinaceous Group take control of the Lumley group of companies, which has an annual gross written premium of £16m.

This includes Lumley Letsure, a major provider of specialist insurance products such as tenants' contents insurance and landlords' buildings.

Andy Halstead, managing director of Erinaceous Insurance Services, said: “This acquisition strengthens our number one position in this market and will allow us to be even more effective in delivering a wider range of high quality, leading edge solutions to our customers.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
