Mark Barrett, UK vice-president of Go To Market, insurance solutions at CoreLogic, outlines why his company should be named joint winners of the Excellence in Technology - Property Claims category at 2022’s Insurance Times Awards

Why did you want to enter the Excellence in Technology - Property Claims category specifically?

Making life easier for everyone in property claims through technology is a key part of what we do at CoreLogic. Therefore, the category of Excellence in Technology - Property Claims felt like a natural fit.

Recently, we delivered a successful claims digitalisation initiative for our insurance client Acromas Insurance Company Limited (AICL) - the in-house insurer for Saga Group - that achieved remarkable outcomes. We thought this was worth sharing with the insurance community.

Saga wanted to create a more comfortable and user friendly claims journey that was more tailored towards the needs of Saga’s experienced customers.

Powered by CoreLogic’s claims workflow and collaboration platform, Saga applied new digital processes to give their customers the right tools and more choices of communication. As a result, Saga is seeing a vast reduction in customer input and effort.

What do you think makes your entry stand out or different from your competition?

Saga can now settle more claims at first notification of loss straight from the desk, leading to a reduction of on-site visits and travel needed.

Also, Saga can now better identify the most optimal route for a claim to be settled.

Consequently, Saga is creating more sustainable operations, helping towards its journey to become a more environmentally friendly insurance operator.

What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

Winning this joint award with Saga would be amazing and proof that technology highly benefits people across all age groups.
