Lara Pedley, global managing director of ISC Group, tells Insurance Times why her company should win the Diversity and Inclusion Excellence category at the 2022 Insurance Times Awards
Explain briefly about your entry in the Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award category.
We entered the Insurance Times Awards this year as we firmly believe that the work and commitment we’ve put into overcoming diversity, equity and inclusion issues has been revolutionary in the sector.
The problem is a long-standing and complicated one in the sector. For years, it’s been at the bottom of people’s priority list.
ISC Group has been established to put this at the forefront of the sector, by identifying minority groups and creating initiatives to combat the barriers they face.
What do you think makes your entry stand out or different from your competition?
ISC Group is a not-for-profit association that is dedicated to helping the insurance industry achieve better gender balance across all seniority levels.
Not only has ISC Group created a safe global community that thousands of women can trust, it also advises over 100 corporate members on how to accelerate change in their organisations.
What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
ISC Group has worked tirelessly over the last 10 years to challenge the sector.
Winning this award would encompass all the hard work and dedication that the team has put in. ISC Group runs because of a passionate commitment to women and this award would help recognise that.
