Peter Hubbard

Former AXA chief executive Peter Hubbard is the new chairman for UK General.

Hubbard steps up from his role as non-executive director to replace Howard Posner as chairman.

A UK General spokesman said: “The board of UK General is today announcing that, having spent three years as executive chairman of the UK General Group, Howard Posner has decided not to continue in the position and that Peter Hubbard, currently a non-executive director on the UK General board, will replace him with immediate effect (subject to regulatory approval).

“We would like to thank Howard for his contribution to the success of UK General to date and wish him all the best for the future.

“We are delighted that Peter has agreed to take on the role and we look forward to working with him and the management team to deliver further profit and growth for the business.”

Hubbard is also a director at the CII and non-executive board member at law firm Keoughs. Hubbard left AXA in April 2008 to pursue other interests.
