Bob Skerrett has been appointed as managing director of the insurance division

Telematics firm Trakglobal has appointed Bob Skerrett as managing director of the insurance division.

In his new role Skerrett will report to Trakglobal chief executive Nick Corrie.

Skerrett joins Trakglobal from RSA where he was UK telematics director.

Corrie said Skerrett’s appointment was driven by the firm’s focus on bringing telematics to the mass market in both personal and commercial lines.

According to Corrie telematics has struggled to move beyond the UK’s 400,000 young drivers in personal lines insurance or to gain the traction it could in fleet insurance.

He added: “[Skerrett] has a proven record of applying telematics technology to generate value for customers, insurers and brokers. He has worked with insurance leadership teams to identify opportunities and implement innovative propositions.

“His insurance contacts and understanding of what matters to insurers, as buyers of our services, will help us deliver even more value to our current and future insurance industry partners.”

Skerrett joined RSA in 2008 to work for the then UK chief executive Adrian Brown, and went on to become director of personal lines broking distribution.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
